Job Description

The Loan Origination System Administrator (LOS Administrator) supports the application, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing and shipping job functions of the mortgage areas of Colonial Savings by executing configurations, updating workflows, implementing securities and roles while maintaining existing programming and interfaces of the system


  • Configure and enhance workflows, business rules, field triggers, security access at role and field level
  • Setup and maintain employee access and security roles
  • Map fields, create expressions and validate the information between the LOS and our dashboard reporting tool
  • Identify potential inefficiencies or gaps within current processes and develop alternatives for improving effectiveness of the LOS
  • Research changes in upcoming vendor releases in order to identify and execute release planning activities (analysis and impacts to integrations, testing, communication)
  • Develop training and communication materials for each release to ensure staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to execute their processes and workflows within the LOS
  • Manage integration of third party vendors and services in a collaborative manner with the broader Colonial team (Vendor Management, IT, Business Architecture)
  • Track and communicate progress, issues risks, timeline impacts and other relevant information to the Business Architecture & Process Improvement Manager
  • Analyze vendor release notes, participate in vendor release meetings and identify impacts of updates to Colonial
  • Manage assigned help desk requests timely
  • Works with vendor and LOS project team to prioritize and sequence implementation and release events
  • Escalate to management any deficiencies, problems, or concerns that might be a potential risk
  • Work with vendor and LOS project team to resolve product deficiencies, identify mitigation plans and escalate issues
  • Consistent engagement with Colonial stakeholder groups to introduce the product features/enhancements to support user adoption
  • Conduct interviews and product analysis to gather and document business requirements and functional requirements
  • Release planning and coordination of activities across internal and external stakeholders as appropriate
  • Engagement with Colonial training to collaborate on the development of training materials as appropriate
  • Develop reasonable time estimates for project team tasks and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with a high level of quality
  • Assist the Business Architecture and Process Improvement Manager as needed in the preparation of necessary presentation materials (e.g., project plan, work breakdown, structure and communication documents)
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders including management
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low level information to a general understanding
  • Provide technical/helpdesk site support (password resets, borrower/branch application assistance)
  • Identify and eliminate obstacles to solution plans, business goals, or implementation
  • Build security rules and workflow controls, assign and configure business rules
  • Gathers analytical information to build reporting
  • Test to ensure project deliverables are accurately met
  • Other duties as assigned



Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a System Administrator, Production Support, System Analyst role
  • 3+ years of experience within mortgage production/origination
  • Motivity, Roostify, ELC, Mortgage Cadence, Empower and/or .NET, Visual Studio experience preferred
  • Proven experience with SQL Server 2008 R2 or later, and SQL Server Management Studio 
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting IT principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user friendly language
  • Customer service orientated and strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in task, time and data management abilities
  • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions, and chose appropriate alternatives using basis root cause analysis
  • Must be a team player and able to work independently
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and sound judgment skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines within strict timeframes
  • Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment
  • Ability to work on and track multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
