Job Description

The Processing Pre-Closing Specialist provides pre-closing support to the processing team. The Processing Pre-Closing Specialist prepares files for closing, confirms all documentation is complete, validates data in the loan origination system, reviews closing disclosures for accuracy, delivers and confirms receipt of the closing disclosures. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Begin preparing the file for closing at first submission to Underwriting
  • Schedule closing date with borrower, title and attorneys
  • Follow up and confirm receipt of title, flood, homeowners insurance, and payoffs
  • Gather needed documentation from the credit union
  • Ensure all data has been entered correctly into the loan origination system (LOS)
  • Verify accuracy of closing fees from title companies, realtors and attorneys, as well as, POC invoices
  • Assist in coordination of closings with all parties
  • Deliver closing disclosure on time via method chosen by borrowers
  • Keep all file activities updated in the files and in the system
  • Interact with clients, vendors, and closing department on a daily basis
  • Ensure closing dates are met
  • Perform general data input for the processing team
  • Other duties as assigned 


Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of mortgage experience
  • 1+ years of closing related experience
  • Familiarity with TRID documentation is required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong analytical and math skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced organizational skills, including the ability to plan work activities and stay on schedule
  • Computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Ability to excel in a team environment
  • Highly motivated and results driven, with a solid commitment to outstanding customer service
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic, fast paced working environment
